Hi guys! First off, as you may notice, this email is a bit more organized that others have been. The reason for that is that today I've got lots and lots of information for you guys. This information includes information on the next Furizona Furmeet and two very special furmeets being planned far ahead of time. There is also information on pictures and the various lists i have, plus some information on the Tucson NightFurs group. Also, the final word on the recent drama relating to our meets' and their name - don't worry, it's not a bad thing.

So, we've got the next meet planned already! Sadly, it'll be almost three weeks before it happens.

The Twelfth Furizona Furmeet will take place at Flame's House, as usual. He has a pool so people who wish can go and swim in the nice cold water during the hot summer day. Later on at night, there will also be a hot tub for those who want to relax in the hot water of relaxation. As always, the meet is potluck-style so bring snacks and stuff. If you bring stuff to grill, there will be a grill available for the grilling of foods.

There is room available for furs who wish to sleep over - the meets at Flame's House have been known to carry on late into the night and into the next day.

Camping Meet

We're currently planning a camping furmeet up in Mt. Lemmon and we hope to have plenty of people there. It is being planned for July 20th and 21st. We need reliable volunteers to drive furs up so email me if you're willing to drive people up there. Also, email me if you wish to attend as seats will be limited and it's best to make sure we have enough drivers ahead of time. We will also need camping supplies like tents and foods. Keep in mind we might have to cover lunch and dinner on Saturday (depending on the time we drive up) and then breakfast and lunch on Sunday (depending on the time we return).

It is illegal to cut down trees or branches for firewood! even if the tree or branch is already dead, it's a national park. So if you have firewood (I have some actually... I think), bring it and we can use that.

We do not have a location set yet, but we'll be working on finding the perfect spot soon enough. Keep in mind we also need camping and campfire permits. Anyone playing with fire is to exercise extreme caution, it'll be a hot day and fire danger becomes worse, we do not want to start a forest fire! Speaking of forest fires, if you have a fire extinguisher, it's not a bad idea to have nearby when camping.

With luck, I can provide a very large tent and tent heaters for the night.

As always, nothing is written in stone but this is what we're shooting for, so get the day off and let me know if you intent to come!

New Year's Bash

Alrighty! The Furizona Furmeets will be hosting the First Furizona New Year's Celebration in January! This event will be utilizing the Furizona Fund to ensure maximum enjoyment. The date(s) are currently set to January 9th and/or January 10th depending on the location. There is very little information available right now as planning only recently began for it and the fund has not grown to the size it will have grown to by the time the New Year's Party takes place. The reason for the dates being on a time other than new year's eve or new year's day, is that some people be out of the city or celebrating with family during those days, so the party is being planned with ample time to let people return to Tucson.

Please keep in mind that all these things are subject to change, nothing is set in stone until we start using up the fund.

Got any ideas? Keep in mind this even will most likely be catered, but we don't know from where yet! Send me an email with any ideas you have, they will be considered. We need ideas on food, location, decoration, and anything else you feel may affect the meet.

Pictures and Videos

If any of you have taken videos of pictures of the meets and would like them available for download or viewing on the Furizona website, send me an email with them. If you cannot fit them all in an email, try megaupload.com, upload a .zip or .rar of the files to there and then email me the link to the file. If you wish you can give me the files in person, I bring my laptop to all the meets and it accepts flashdrives, portable hard drives, or memory stick/SD cards.

Note about videos: I can only do light editing on the videos, if a video needs to be rotated, make sure it's in .mpg or .wmv format, otherwise, have the video rotated before it is sent to me. All videos, if appropriate, will be uploaded to youtube for previewing on the website. All videos, unless inappropriate to an extent beyond that which we allow at the furmeets, will be available for download as the original video via the website (after rotating if necessary).

Email and Contacts List

As you may know, I keep both and email and a contacts list.

The email list is a list of emails to which I send out these emails, it is about the quickest way to get information regarding the meets and the most likely one for last-minute occurrences. If you wish to join this list, simply send me an email at admin@furizona.org stating you wish to be added to the list and you'll begin getting emails before anyone else!

The contacts list is a Microsoft Word document that has people's contact and personal information. This is periodically sent out to all members of the email list. If you wish to have information added to the contacts list, send me an email with the information you wish to be added to it. If possible, follow the format of the list as it would make it easier for me to edit. Also, please don't send me an edited copy of the document, that makes it even worse since i have to keep solely one copy with all the information rather than a hundred copies each with their own edits. If any information is wrong or outdated, let me know.

Fund Use

It was decided at the last meet that the Furizona Fund will be used for the new year's after-party. This idea is subject to change as objections may come up, but most furs seem to like this idea.

So, we would like to become known for these special furry parties, so donate to the fund and let's make this the best meet yet!

To donate to the Furizona Fund, just give Reynard money and tell him it's for the fund. If you don't know who he is, ask around or check the About Us page on the website.

Night Furs - The following message was written by Flame and asked that I help advertise it. It is written below without editing on my part:

Tucson NightFurs is starting their first get together on the 15th (this Friday night), meeting up on 4th Ave in the parking lot of Maloney's at 9:30PM and will wait for about 15-20 min. for everyone to gather before beginning to wander around for a while. After a while of wandering, we'll move to Flame's house for some music and drinks if other plans are not decided before then.
The goal of Tucson NightFurs is not to have more furmeets, but to give late-night furries of this city more to do during the night life of Tucson. Already Flame, Kaz, and NiveK have been doing tons of night events and just want to extend an invitation for others to join along!

Final Word on Our Name

First off, on behalf of everyone involved in the past events regarding the domain furizona.com, I apologize for all the drama that took place and any change in the flow of information which may have occurred.

The domain has been restored to the correct server and the Furizona name will continue to serve it's original purpose. Please bear with me as I repair the website back to its former glory (or whatever you can call the level of prestige or lack thereof that the website once held).
